Somatic Body Module
First module of the 300h Advanced Yoga & Somatics Training (in-person & online)
Lead by Tara Judelle
Module 1: Somatic Body (Movement & Anatomy)
Sensing & Being From an Embodied Perspective
Somatic Body focuses on discovering the dimensionality of embodiment from the Embodied Flow™ perspective, opening the door to the body’s innate wisdom. Using the lens of asana and free movement, This module will concentrate on foundational material for embodied movement and utilize experiential anatomy, kinesiology, and physiology as a technology for the landscape of yoga.
Human beings can be defined as clusters of consciousness, organized into various densities, frequencies, functions, and sensations. Anatomist Gill Hedley coined the term “somanaut” to describe those who explore the interior framework of their being. The Somatic Body module will provide a framework that will allow you to dive ever deeper into the exploration of Self.
Somatic Body Immersion – Curriculum
This foundational immersion is the entry point to the advanced practice of the methodology and Principles of Embodied Flow™. Discovering the inner landscape of the body-mind through somatic journeys into systems of the body: Bones, muscles, organs, endocrine, and cellular consciousness.
Explore the five foundational Principles of Embodied Flow™
Introduction of experiential philosophy (the practice of weaving non-dual tantric philosophy into an embodied journey)
Somatization – Discover various systems of the body from a Body-Mind Centering® perspective
Learn functional biomechanics that allow your students to align from the inside out, and the outside in
Explore moving from different points of initiation that allow greater ease and effortlessness in asana and movement
Examine ways of working with students in their wholeness so as to support their process in an inclusive and empowered way
Introduction to the Embodied Flow™ method of sequencing classes
Pranayama and meditation practices
Expressing unconscious and conscious aspects of self through movement meditations
Foundational components of manual therapy and bodywork
Tantric philosophy and its relationship to Embodied Flow™
The second part of the Somatic Body Immersion continues the methodology of Embodied Flow™ and pulls into the foreground the pulsatory world of our fluid body. Fluid systems offer balance, transport communication as well as emotional and nervous system regulation. As we submerge into the mind of the fluids, we will follow spiralic pathways, rivering networks, and vortices of energy into the expansive easeful world of the inner sea.
Cellular Consciousness
Embryological Pathways
Fluid systems: intercellular fluid, blood, lymph, fascia, fat and cerebrospinal fluid
Fascial lines
Developmental Pathways
Kinespheres
Dimensionality planes of motion
Tantric philosophy, meditation, pranayama
